Lovely place to go for a woodland walk....HOWEVER, unbelievably no toilet at all! Apparently this is only the case in winter and it is not NTs responsibility. Well, when you are faced with pairs of old soiled pants sitting next to the closed toilets, they clearly need to do something about it. Poor.

Beautiful walks but toilets not open! Toilets separate to the house so no need for them to be closed, but sign said they only open on days house is open. Given remoteness of location and length of walks, this caused us issues coming with young children. Shame we had to rush off, as location is stunning.

Great place for a walk. There are different routes of different lengths and the mansion is worth a visit. The mansion also has a cafe . Check before you visit as I believe the mansion is not open daily out of season. The parkland is open all year round.

Stunning! But note house is not free for NT members.Absolutely beautiful landscape. Such a delightful place to spend an afternoon. We took the pink trail - Boathouse walk which was 4.5mi incl distance from car park. Some beautiful steps to go up and down, gorgeous lakes including the fab boathouse. Fantastic looking cows and sheep, beautiful big trees - really breathtaking views.Super-friendly staff at the care with some delicious cake.Only downside was that we planned to go here based on also being able to view the mansion. I don't feel it was made clear on the NT website that there is a charge for going inside the gothic mansion as it is run by a separate trust of its own.

Great place for walks, long or short. If you go up the hill there is a nice playground with swings and some balancing ropes. There use to be a zip line but someone took the seat down recently. If you decide to go down the hills you will get to the lake. There is livestock roaming around so you have to watch your 4-legged friend or keep it on the lead (if you have one).
